DARSHAN: Kenya Blind Children Seva Project

Excerpt from Swami Vishwananda Darshan Talk

(Excerpt from Darshan Talk March 13, 2010) Jai Guru Dev: As most of you know, I have just returned from Kenya. Actually, I will not talk a lot today, but I would like to share something with you. The seva group there, since I started it already five years or six years ago, have been carrying on the seva to the handicapped children, or blind children.

I will share this with you because we have to be grateful to God, to Divine Mother for we are full, complete. We can use our hands; we can use each part of our body. There’s no point of complaining, but yet many people, in spite of having everything working properly, they like complaining. Very often I say that what you see sometimes in the eyes of people who don’t have much, you don’t see in the eyes of people who have a lot. Often people who have a lot are never satisfied with life; they are never satisfied with what they have. You know very well, the more somebody that is in the material world, the more one has, the more one wants always more. So the mind always runs on the outside, forgetting that we are not here to run in the outside, we are here to run in the inside.

This trip to Kenya—I went after 3 ½ years… It was an amazing five days! The day we arrived in the afternoon, we went directly to the home to see the handicapped children. The next day there was darshan. So I was very, very busy. Most every day we would be up until two or three o’clock in the morning, but it’s worthy. The seva group there which has carried on this work; it’s amazing. So I will just share a little bit, a few pictures so you can see the project in Kenya. And continue after seeing that; look at yourself, at your life how it is. Thank God for whatever God has given you, and be grateful about life. And also wake up inside of you the spirit of helping.

We are all running after the love of God, because He is the love of God? The love of God is the love that you can express; you express it towards the Divine. And of course you don’t only go to God to express your love, but you do know someone who needs help. And it is said if you want to experience the love of God: help; do charity. This will open the heart. Because when you do charity, you don’t think of yourself, but you think of serving. That’s what Christ said, “The least you do to my brothers, you also are doing it up to me. So the little you do to someone who really needs, you are doing it to the Lord, to God. In return He is giving you much more, and He is filling your heart with lots of love.

there is no German donation account for this project yet. it would be great if the Kenya organisers of this project could accept paypal money transfer. otherwise international money transfer is difficult. or should the money be donated in cash in Shree Nilaya Peetham/Springen? JGD
