Shree Peetha Nilaya Pujas, Yagnas with Swami Vishwananda

Days 7, 8, 9, Navaratri 2010

First Six Days of Navaratri 2010

Mahavatar Babaji Quote of the Day:
"Do you know that some chelas or students of the Guru make themselves available constantly to sit in front of the Guru’s face through questions and their physical presence. Why? It is most often a vain attempt to gain attention. Sometimes the Guru will send these students away from his face for a time. The Guru will continually work to lead you within where you will find what? You will find the truth of you, the I Am Presence of Forever! The Guru can lead you there, but first you must relinquish your need for the Guru to continually boost you up in "spirits". You must locate, embrace and love your own reservoir of "spiritual sustenance". Then the Guru becomes for you the touchstone for your own awakening, your own advancement into light."

Footprints In The Sands Of Time

"When the disciple is really and sincerely ready, a touch of the Master can give realization just like that."
- Swami Vishwananda

Mahavatar Babaji Quote of the Day:
“It is of the utmost importance on the spiritual path to be sincere in your seeking.”
– Babaji

Footprints In The Sands Of Time

On wings of Eagles time flies away.
Winding along the lonely road of evolution
Man flounders unsteadily until such time as he
awakens to the All In One, the One In All.

With clarity comes the dawn of awareness
Like an ocean breeze is welcome when the
Bare feet upon the ocean’s sand and shore
Feel the scorching rays of summer’s sun.

Man must travel that long, lonely road
Which, in truth, is just 18 inches
From the head to the spiritual heart in man!
Therein man may free himself of
Earth’s centuries-long freedom fight
Through surrendering to the Divinity Within.
Thereby, man lands in a no-time zone of peace
And light and Divine Love evermore!

If only 18 inches, why this journey
And why take so long?
The weary pilgrim stranger asks this, as
Along his lonely road he trudges
On his chosen way.
The length of time one stays on this life journey
From head to heart is long or short according to
Many factors man has chosen along his way.
For the pilgrim bears his heavy load of karma,
And lifetime after lifetime of suffering and pain.
Also many experiences of joy come on the
Pilgrim way of that we know as Earthly love.

Rain comes, and inevitably the sunshine follows,
While one dwells in the Earthly domain.
Never fear, for your Heavenly Father
Evermore walks with you
Like the poem, “Footprints in the Sand”.

“. . . So I said to the Lord:
‘You promised me Lord
That if I followed you,
You would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
The most trying periods of my life
There has been only one
Set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
Have you not been there for me?”

“The Lord replied:
‘The times when you have
Seen only one set of footprints
Are the times when I carried you.’”

INDIA 2010 with Swami VIshwananda

(Pictures and text by Swami Vishwavijayananda traveling with Swami Vishwananda in India)

The golden pilar of the Mookambika temple: Swami Vishwananda in the yard of the temple with a golden pilar at the entrance of the Sanctorum.

The temple of Mookambika with the deity: Inside the sanctorum Swami Vishwananda and the pilgrims could venerate the goddess Mookambika. The Goddess Mookambika is in the form of Jyotir-Linga incorporating both Shiva and Shakthi. Here in front of the deity covered with a gold lid.

Mookambika: This very nice and devoted priest performed puja for Swami and the pilgrims inside the Temple.

Udupi: A holy devotee of Krishna could not enter the temple because he was of a low caste. He was praying outside the temple: "Krishna I would like so much to see your face." The prayer of this man brought the wall to break down and through nine holes the holy sage could watch the murti of Krishna. The murti turned on itself and the devotee could see the face of Krishna. After this event, anybody could enter the temple (also westeners). The main entrance was closed and a silver window replaced the nine holes symbolic of the nine forms of Bhakti.

Udupi: Madhavacharya discovered this murti which was hidden inside a block of chandan. A temple was build then around the murti. The seat of Madhavacharya is still in the temple.

In Udupi on the west coast of India the murti of Krishnainside the Temple is the oldest representation of Krishna. Krishna is represented as a child holding a stick. It was made during the life time of Krishna and given to Rukmini who worshiped it.

Mahavatar Babaji Quote of the Day:
Beloved Friends, let us continue to bring home to the heart, the truths of what it is that you are doing in this lifetime. Let us work together in heart-felt resonance to bring divinity, the Divine Love, into your awareness. Come home to the truth of you. -Babaji

Letter from Mahavatar Babaji: The Proof of the Pudding

My beloved Chelas:
Since time began man has wandered the wilderness of his lonely trek into the snows of the Himalayas within, thereby to obtain the elusive peace of understanding and communion with the Divine. That journey must be taken alone, in the sense that no man may accompany you. You are in the presence of the Divine as you walk that long and lonely way. There is hope, for many Enlightened Masters have shown you the way. And you truly are never alone as the Divine is with you always and closer than your breath. Continue to tune into the maha energy of the Lord and a feeling of eternal peace and love will come to you.

"The proof of the pudding is in the eating” is a saying which means, in essence, that something has to be experienced in order for one to realize fully how it is and what benefits are inherent within it. It is like this with the Meditations and Atma Kriya that Swami Vishwananda teaches. You must render, or execute, the content in such a way that you experience the benefits and reap the ultimate harvest of liberation. -Babaji

Utpalavati: You may learn about the benefits of Atma Kriya at the following link:

Babaji recommends that if you are guided from within to do so, and even if you previously have viewed this, please watch and render the content of the video below to reap the benefits. Swami Vishwananda speaks about cultivating a relationship with Mahavatar Babaji, the Param Guru—the Guru of one’s own Guru. (As you may know, Mahavatar Babaji is Swami Vishwananda’s Guru).
