Sri Swami Vishwananda sitting on a raised dais
at Shree Peetha Nilaya (ashram)
giving Darshan (Sight of the Guru) 22 October 2011
Swami Vishwananda sat on a dais (a raised platform) so that devotees could have Darshan, or Sight, of the Guru. In the past Gurudev has sat at floor level and often it is difficult to see him during Darshan.
Many have read or heard stories of how the Darshan "sight" of a picture of Sri Swami Vishwananda has changed lives in a spontaneous and powerfully Divine way. The following video speaks of the "making" of a photograph of Maha Lakshmi which provides Darshan of Maha Lakshmi for those who have "sight" of Divine Mother in this way!
Darshan of Maha Lakshmi. . .
in a different way than the above Darshan of Sri Swami Vishwananda (both can be equally illuminating and devotional). We are placing this video here to show this artist/photographer's explanation of how a photograph can create the same spiritual response within a person as Sight Darshan of the Guru or Deity such as Maha Lakshmi. What is possible with Darshan (sight) of a photograph to which you resonate, such as a picture of Sri Swami Vishwananda)? -Swamini Vishwalakshmianandama
