Rings on fingers and bells on toes make merry, it is said. The pauper has neither of these things. Christ said, 'The poor you always have with ye, but me ye will not have always'. So he allowed Mary to anoint his feet with the costly, scented oil. It is the same with you who are blessed to have the necessities of food, clothing and shelter provided by whom? The Divine is the source of everything. There is Divine purpose in the pauper in his condition and you in yours. It behooves you to find out how it is you are in the place and time of your birth and your life circumstances. Your sadhana practice of Atma Kriya can provide the answers to such questions! –Babaji

Note: In the days of Jesus he was not considered to have long hair nor did he "embellish" his hair. Long hair and embellishment of the hair were reserved for women who often had hair down to the waist. Therefore, this verse and the reference in the folllowing song of a woman's hair, her glory, was laid down at the feet of Jesus as she wiped her tears from his feet with her hair:
"Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have embellished hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman has embellished hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering." (KJV 1 Corinthians 11. 14-15)
