Sri Swami Vishwananda: What is Shivaratri? Actually, Shivaratri is when you forget about your mind and what dwells only in your mind is the Divine. Actually, right now when you were singing and chanting "Panduranga Vittale Vittale", you were not thinking. You were just chanting the Name of God and by the movement you didn’t think of anything. You were just concentrating on the vibration that was coming out from what you were chanting. And that’s what is Shivaratri, actually, which is uplifting you and really awakening what is deep inside of you. -Sri Swami Vishwananda

Podcast: Forget About Your Mind - Shivaratri 2011 wth Sri Swami Vishwananda
Sometime between 2 and 3am during the Great Night of Maha Shivaratri 2011 Swami gave an inspiring talk about the meaning of Shivaratri. Before the talk he did an unusual kirtan chanting session that lasted 30 minutes and electrified us all. We start this podcast thus with a 2.5 minute excerpt from that exhilarating session at the highpoint of Shivaratri 2011 at Shree Peetha Nilaya, Springen, German.
