As I posted this picture of our Beloved Guru Sri Swami Vishwananda, I
began practicing the Yogic Gaze
(pratyahara | dharana). Spontaneously, Swami’s picture became 2 duplicate
pictures side by side in my vision. On
the left picture, the right side of his face (actually his left side but right
side as one is looking at the picture) became the left side of Mahavatar Babaji’s
face (right as one looks at the picture). It would be nice if I could capture
these “petite miracles” on camera like Swami does … someday … ummmmm ….
Mahavatar, are you listening? Will you help us please?
What is the Yogic Gaze?
Drishti (IPA: [ drsti ]: Sanskrit: दृष्टि; |AST:dṛṣṭi), or
focused gaze, is a means for developing concentrated intention. It relates to
the fifth limb of yoga (pratvahara) concerning sense withdrawal as well as the sixth
limb dharana relating
to concentration.
