Mahavatar Babaji: Master Christ Jesus taught: “I Am the way, the Truth and the Life.” Many scriptures speak about the saints who have come to your planet to show you the way to liberation, giving their lives as an example. Swami Vishwananda and his disciples have begun writing a series of books telling the stories of certain saints from both east and west. It will please me if you, who read these Epistles will choose to search out Swami Vishwananda’s work about saints. Study the examples of the varied lives of the saints and martyrs about whom Sri Swami Vishwananda has written and thereby attune to how saints have reached liberation while in the body, the Jivan Mukta. Use their examples as a blueprint for enlightenment. No! You do not have to become a martyr to become liberated. Reading about the saints provides another example of a formula for enlightenment. Dear Mahavatar Babaji, sorry if my question is silly maybe:as for martyrs: I guess that those who read this blog will not be crucified or beaten to death, eaten by wild animals etc., respectively our bodies will not.
but is it not that Swami Vishwananda said we have to give up our identity, our ego self=I? So as for the ego self isn´t it going to be a "martyrdom" in a way?
But of course, we can choose e.g. the repeating of God´s names/Naam Jaap as a panacea/remedy, or just do as Swami Vishwananda proposed: when your mind is playing games with you, close your eyes and say to yourself: I am the light, I am love, I am joy, I am peace...
