In the “Bhagavad Gita,”Krishna said: “Out of a million, only a few will attain me. We hear things, yet, we still are deaf. Why? We choose deafness, because we don’t want to change. We say, “Yes, we want to change.” In reality, very few really and sincerely want to change!

Krishna Flute Music by the Ganges,India

Swamiji once told a story about Krishna entering the garden and telling the bamboo cane: I will take your life now. He cut it off( this stands for cutting the devotee off from his or her former attachments) and made a flute from it. This flute always was with Krishna, even more than Radha was, and everybody was jealous of the flute. Swamiji explained further that the flute first had to give up its identity as bamboo cane in the garden and to literally die. and only then, being hollow, not having any ideas or desires of its own, it could accompany Krishna anywhere...
....YES....cut me and make me your flute thrue which You will play Your Divine music.....
One version of this story I read says that Krishna asked the bamboo if he could cut it. Just like the bamboo, from the point of view of that version of the story, the devotee has to agree to the cutting. How many do not even do (allow the cutting) as the Guru instructs. If Krishna himself were standing in front of the devotee, would he agree to be cut (and isn't he in the form of the Guru)? That is the question?
Has anyone ever tried the Venu mudra from the mudra booklet? Is it recommendable?
The Guru, Krishna, God can not transform you. They help you but ultimately it is each person's responsibility for himself as he has free will. Remember, Swami said he puts the food in the discipls's mouth, but the disciple must chew and swallow the food. Swami said he would do it for the disciple if he could, but it would not be aligned with Cosmic Law. We can't just say:....YES....cut me and make me your flute thrue which You will play Your Divine music....." You have to put forth great effort of your own. You must want it like what was on this blog once: You must want elightenment like a drowning man going down for the third time wants only ONE THING...oxygen!
What is the proper offering to God? Lord Sri Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita mentions - Patram, Pushpam, Phalam, Toyam (leaf, flower, fruit and water). What do these signify? Your body is the leaf; your heart is the flower; your mind is the fruit and the tears of bliss are the water to be offered to God. The body is to be surrendered unto God by undertaking acts of worship and other sacred deeds. God is not confined to any particular place of worship. Your very body is a temple. Find Him in your heart.
...and how to want You?.....who else can make me long for You other than Yourself?...
pray for this longing. if you are really serious and have patience and do not want so many other things, material things, too, at the same time, this longing will for sure be granted to you! JGD
