The Great Nights of Maha Shivratri 2011 will forever be remembered as most extraordinary and auspicious.

On 2n and 3rd March Sri Swami Vishwananda at his home, Shree Peetha Nilaya (Springen Germany), gave birth to two Hiranyagarbha Golden Lingams.

“Hiranya” means imperishable substance or golden and “garbha” means womb, egg or the interior of anything. Thus, the Hiranyagarbha Lingam is known as the Golden Egg. It is the most important of all Lingams and its appearance for our physical eyes is extremely rare. And even rarer – in fact there is no know account of such an occurrence in recent history – is the parallel appearance of two Hiranyagarbha Lingams.

The Hiranyagarbha Lingam, according to the Srimad Bhagavatam is the primodial creation of God, the Will of God itself; all in all the Soul of Narayana.
“Even if it seems so small like this, it has the whole universe inside of it.
Even if it seems small in the outside, we are all inside of it.
…These are the two eyes of Narayana.
The two Hiranyagarbha Lingams symbolize the two cosmic energies of the universe, the female and the male energy, which makes everything come into manifestation: Shiva-Shakti, Lakshmi-Narayan, Brahma-Vishnu.
In his fullness Lord Narayana shows that all is present with Himself. The Creator, the Protector and the Destroyer is only Him.

Sri Swami Vishwananda gave birth to a second Hiranyagarbha Golden Lingam this afternoon. The two lingams symbolize the two eyes of Narayan and the two creational forces of the Universe (female/male, Shiva/Shakti). Everything comes out of Him only. The Lingams are a powerful reminder of this. It is our pride and our ego that makes us think that we are the doers, when in fact, it's all His Divine game. Swami asks us once again to identify ourselves with our true Self, and to cleanse away all that which separates us from our Divine Reality.
